Steel drums, also known as steel barrels or steel containers, are robust cylindrical containers primarily used for the storage and transportation of liquids and solid materials.

  1. Sizes and Capacities: Come in various sizes, with standard capacities ranging from 20 liters (5 gallons) to 210 liters (55 gallons). Larger drums may be available upon request.
  2. Design: The standard design features include a top and bottom head that are sealed to the cylindrical body by means of rolling or welding. This creates a strong, leak-resistant container.
  3. Closure: Typically have a removable lid or closure secured with a bolt ring, clamp, or lever-locking mechanism. This allows for easy access to the contents for filling, dispensing, or cleaning.
  4. Uses: Widely used for storing and transporting a variety of materials including chemicals, petroleum products, hazardous waste, pharmaceuticals, food products (when lined appropriately), and industrial liquids.
  5. Handling: Designed for easy handling with standard equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks. They are stackable to optimize storage space and can be moved efficiently in warehouse and transportation settings.
  6. Durability: Known for their durability and strength, making them suitable for rugged environments and long-term storage. They are resistant to impact, puncture, and extreme temperatures.
  7. Regulations: All drums are UN-compliant for shipping.
